Summary

I design brands and build the sites, apps, and games that carry them, start to finish: research, identity, interface, code, motion, and QA. Before this I spent four years in enterprise SaaS application support and fifteen years running high-volume service businesses, including a restaurant with over two million dollars in annual revenue. I know what a business owner needs from their infrastructure and website.

Designer and developer

Independent practice, chuck design2026 to present

  • Design brands and build the sites that carry them, start to finish. Research, identity, typography, interface, code, motion, and QA from one hand.
  • Shipped the studio site on Next.js 16, React 19, and GSAP. Real visitors measured LCP 1.5 s, CLS 0, TBT 40 ms. Built client sites for a photographer and a six-page contractor rebuild, each with its own identity and conversion-first structure.
  • Delivered two Shopify theme builds in Liquid and Online Store 2.0. Thirty-five sections, twelve personalized products with their own option rules, 210 catalog records, a live cover preview. Playwright tests and Theme Check.
  • Built a 3D apparel brand site in Three.js and custom GLSL, four pages of scroll-driven heroes at full frame rate on ordinary hardware, on Cloudflare Workers with Playwright smoke gates.
  • Built products end to end. A callback phone desk on Cloudflare Workers and D1 with signature verification for three carriers and 264 tests; a parent-facing mobile app in Expo and React Native on Firebase; an offline-capable React PWA with cross-device sync in daily use.
  • Built browser games in TypeScript and Canvas 2D with deterministic 60 Hz simulation and 67 replay tests, a 3D repair-shop game in Three.js fronting a 38-page content pipeline, and desktop games in Godot.
  • Shipped 28 free browser tools with zero backend, a knowledge graph over my own notes, and generated Grafana dashboards. Every project carries a written contract, a decisions ledger, and dated verification evidence.

Support engineer, enterprise SaaS

Supply-chain software company, global customers4 years

  • Delivered Tier 2 and Tier 3 application support for enterprise customers across North America and Europe on production SaaS environments.
  • Resolved 30 to 40 support requests a month covering data ingestion, failed scheduled jobs, and application performance.
  • Ran proactive infrastructure monitoring of disk, load, and memory, cutting reactive incident volume by an estimated 20 percent.
  • Administered the full SaaS environment lifecycle across 15 or more customer tenants. Provisioning, configuration, software refreshes, failover validation.
  • Performed Linux server maintenance including log analysis, service restarts, and scheduled job management.
  • Served as the escalation point for complex customer issues and kept high satisfaction scores across a global enterprise portfolio. Maintained the team knowledge base.

Front office manager

Cardiology practice2 years

  • Ran front office operations for a practice seeing 60 or more patients a day, coordinating scheduling, intake, and the workflow of a six-person administrative team.
  • Administered electronic medical records and scheduling software with HIPAA compliance and accurate, timely documentation.
  • Troubleshot software issues and trained staff on new systems and processes.

General manager

High-volume restaurant, over $2M in annual revenue13 years

  • Held full P&L accountability. Budgets, sales forecasting, monthly reporting, daily bank reconciliation.
  • Recruited, trained, and developed a team of 30 or more with strong retention.
  • Designed and ran marketing that drove 12 to 15 percent year-over-year revenue growth while holding labor within a 28 percent target.
  • Cut operating expenses 8 percent through waste reduction, vendor negotiation, and purchasing discipline.
  • Built a hospitality standard that earned repeat customers and strong review performance year after year.

  • Simplify IEP. A mobile app that reads a parent's own IEP and explains it in plain language, with a public research simulator behind it. Expo, React Native, TypeScript, Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, streamed responses. 15 adjudicated cases, every entry human-reviewed.
  • fixedittech.com. A 3D campground repair-shop game that fronts a library of plain-language tech and security tips. Three.js, vanilla JavaScript, Vite, a Node content pipeline building 38 static pages, Cloudflare Workers.
  • Missed Call Desk. A callback-only phone desk proven correct before it touches a carrier. TypeScript, React, Cloudflare Workers, D1, Web Crypto. 264 worker tests, load p99 314 ms.
  • cool-toolbox. Twenty-eight free tools that run entirely in the browser. Static ES modules, no backend, no dependencies, pinned vendor libraries loaded on first use.
